Goodbye September Mini and Hello January Mini - December Blog Hop -

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects showing “My Favorite Things” from any of the two current catalogs or the upcoming catalog in January. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

This pack of DSP has to be one of my favorites out of this mini catalog.  It just seems so festive and just all around traditional fun. These cards are simple and fast.  I have had to simplify my taste and style since I went back to work.  Working in a high volume pharmacy at almost 50 hours last week doesn't leave a lot of time to be creative.  It is still therapy for me when I get to play with all my crafting toys.  Even with a simple card the details add so much depth and personality
.

Even adding a splash of color to the inside of your card helps add character.  I even thinks its fun to use a white gel pen when leaving a personal message to your recipient.

Just for fun I add this scrapbook page with the same DSP from the cards!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on January 13th when our theme will be Time to Sale-A-Brate.  Participants will showcase tags or 3D items that will be great for gifts for any occasion. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

November Blog Hop-Designer Series Paper

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Pile It On” – showcasing their card/project with layers of DSP and/or embellishments for any occasion. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

This is the time of year, where we get to enjoy the simple beauty of things.  Being grateful for the abundance that life has to offer.  We sometimes get so busy trying to make things more complicated then they need to be and get wrapped up in making thing so prefect.  That's why it's nice when you find a product and a company that makes life easier.  Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper always makes a statement when used as a focal point on any card, scrapbook page or project.  I picked this paper to make my card with simple lines and detail.  Showcasing the beauty of the colors and designs.  I used the matching punched to add the details to the card with the leaves and acorns. Yep! those leaves and acorn details are part of one sheet of  the DSP in the pack.  I used our Shimmery White cardstock to add sparkle to the sentiment and accented it with stitched Layer dies for the frame. Making the final touches with a bit of ribbon and a few Gilded Gems.

Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on December 9th when our theme is “Goodbye September Mini Catalog and Hello January Mini Catalog.” Participants showcase their favorites from the retiring holiday catalog or new products from the new mini catalog. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft space.

My Happiest Season

Hello and Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team is showcasing “My Happiest Season.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Being a mother of 6 girls, I think my favorite might be back to school season.    Truthfully, if I were going to choose it would be Autumn.  It just always feels like your getting a new beginning right before the holidays. This card gives the feeling of summer ending and ready for the start of fall.
It is a new season.  A perfect opportunity to do something bold, something beautiful!

Pecan Sugared Coffee Cake

Pecan Sugared Coffee Cake

Ingredients

1 cup salted butter (or 2 sticks)-  I used 2 sticks
1/2 cup + 2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
1 large egg lightly beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 + 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Topping + Middle layer

1 cup Pecan- super finely chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon -( I like it without the cinnamon)
1/2 cup brown sugar - (if you don't like the topping in the middle of the cake only use a 1/4 cup of the sugar to make the topping)

Instructions

Lightly grease an 8x8" baking pan.*  Preheat oven to 350° F.   Combine butter and sugar in mixer and cream together until fluffy.  In a separate bowl lightly beat egg then add sour cream and vanilla pour in with the creamed sugar and butter.  Chop pecan and add sugar (and cinnamon),
set aside.  In a separate bowl whisk together flour, baking soda and baking powder, then add to the butter mixture until all is combined.  Place half the batter in the bottom of a well greased pan, making sure to spread evenly then top with half of the topping mixture.  Repeat with other half of batter and Topping mixture.  Bake in a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean.  * If you double the mixture to make a 9x13 pan add an extra 5 minutes to the baking time.  Ready to serve after cooling about 10-15 minutes.

I served this on Friday Night when we had our neighbor over for dinner and a game of Dominos.  Everyone seemed to enjoy it alot!  So today I made another one for our Sunday night family dinner.

XOXO- Lori
